We are seeking a new Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in conducting the day-to-day financial posting and reporting activities for our global organization. They will draw upon excellent analytical skills to prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts. They will use their thorough knowledge of US-GAAP to post journal entries, reconcile accounts, maintain the General Ledger, and perform month-end close procedures.


They will also have a love for working alongside near and far coworkers to bring effective processes and procedures to life. The successful candidate will be the person who is thoroughly proficient in accounting, loves using it to serve others, and is passionate about using their skills to accomplish our mission.


As our Staff Accountant, you will:

  • Drive the month-end close process, and preparation of monthly internal reports
  • Prepare Balance Sheet and bank account reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Manage the Fixed Assets accounting and reconciliation
  • Manage acknowledgements and accounting for non-cash donations received
  • Assist with the annual audit and preparation of external financial statements in accordance with US-GAAP
  • Support the filing of required documents on a local, state, and federal level
  • Assist with improvements to the organization’s internal control policies and procedures
  • Be cross trained to provide backup support for adjacent functions such as Accounts Payable and Payroll & Benefits


A successful Staff Accountant will also bring to the role:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, preferably Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • High interpersonal awareness and emotional intelligence
  • Thorough skills in accounting and financial policies, procedures, and reporting
  • High degree of accuracy and organization
  • Proficiency with Excel along with other Microsoft office and business collaboration tools
  • Strong experience with a financial database solution
  • Fluency in English reading, writing, speaking, and listening
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training (up to 3 weeks each year)
  • Some of these preferred skills and experience:
    • CPA or CMA certification
    • Work with non-profits and/or international organizations
    • Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (or another donor management system)
    • QuickBooks Online
    • Microsoft Teams, Asana, or other project management systems
    • Cross-cultural communication skills and experience
    • Spanish or French language skills
